Angels fascinate me, so from time to time, I make it a point to read a book with them as a main subject. Several days ago, I finished the entire Halo Series by Alexandra Adornetto. It was a good read all in all and I give it a 4/5 rating. Honestly speaking, I have read a lot of books, but this is one of the few that tackled about hell and what it looked like. The part about possession also thrilled me because some angel books rarely touch that subject matter. It was an Exorcist with Linda Blair experience and it gave me goosebumps. I love the characters, even Arakiel, the demon who fell in love with the main character. My only disappointment was the ending. For me, it could have been more dramatic. Oh well.. It was still a great book. Kudos to the author for making me dream about a possessed girl. lol!
Weeks ago, I happened upon a trade show. The people there sold anything, from food, furniture’s, to accessories. One kiosk caught my attention as the accessories they sold looks yummy enough to eat. I was astounded by it all so I had to take a quick shot. Admittedly, my favorite one was this cookie monster. It looked so cool! Anyway, enjoy the pictures.
Forgive me for the blurred picture. I was out on the mall one day when I saw that and I had to take a quick snapshot before I was told off by the guards. lol! Anyway.. On to my story. I quit Facebook a couple of months ago. My sister and father had one but never really used it, my mom never even tried, and me being the youngest got uninterested pretty soon. At first it was exciting seeing that there were a lot of games, and I got to connect with my friends in other countries. However, all the lies that people say in their Facebook became too much for me.
A couple I knew would often post pictures of their love and adventures together on Facebook. It turned out that it was all a lie because their relationship was as brittle as a glass. Another scenario made me really pissed. There was this girl, let’s call her Candy. She would update her Facebook at least 5 to 10 times a day with pictures of her sons, her schedule for the day, and so on. I mean, if a stalker befriended her, the stalker would know how to kidnap her seeing that she posts her whole life on Facebook.
For me, you can post things on Facebook, but there should be a limitation to it. People just use it as a form of organizer nowadays to keep track of their schedule. Aside from that, some just lie, thinking that others will be impressed if they do that with their profile. At the end of the day, they are only fooling themselves and not other people. I was turned off by all these BS that I had to call it quits. At least in wordpress, you blog to express, not to impress since you do not know the people who will be reading your post.
Who doesn’t like desserts? That’s right, no one. That is because they are delectable, melt in your mouth goodness that absolutely no one can resist. My comfort food are ice cream, cakes, and any other dessert that you can think of. I know that eating when you are depressed is bad, but hey, at least I can taste something good even if the world has been so bad. If you know what I mean. Lol!
I’m very fond of wearing flip flops because I’m more comfortable with it. Sadly, rainy days are upon us and I don’t like the feeling of my feet getting wet from the rain. When I saw these red boots, I couldn’t resist them and bought them immediately. It looks very fashionable don’t you think? Now I’m ready for the rainy days to come. Pour away!
I love fruits, but I have never tasted a dragon fruit before. When I saw it sitting proudly on the grocery, I decided that I’m going to taste it once and for all. The first bite I took was kind of weird. I didn’t know what to expect. The second and third bite were the same. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it really. Oh well, at least I was able to eat one. I think I’ll stick to my mangoes, strawberries, and avocados.
The other day, I got to taste my first cake pops. Hurrah!!! Well, as that was my first time, I was very thrilled. For those of you who has been living under the rock like me and don’t know what this is, an introduction is in order. A cake pop is like a lollipop, but is just made of cake, like the above picture. Though they do not look like the conventional cakes, they sure tasted like one. If you are not doing anything today, I suggest that you go and buy one.🙂
It’s my rest day today so I grabbed the opportunity to go out and buy groceries with my partner. We were pleasantly surprised when we found out that there was a trade/craft show on the mall. My partner bought this yummy looking donuts ring. She actually had a hard time choosing from the dozens of attractive accessories out there (I’ll post them another time) and I had to convince her to get this one.
For me, an outfit is not complete without a watch. It can be used as an accessory or something to keep you from getting late. Watches are one of my biggest splurges. I was delighted to see this watch because of its vintage appeal so I bought it immediately. Luckily, the seller lowered the price hehehehe, nothing like a good bargain.
Uh huh, I like this one too, it’s blue and very trendy, plus it was sold for a very cheap price so I had to get it no matter what. Well, that’s it for this post.
Don’t you just love desserts? I do! Lol! Anyway, chocolate is not the only flavor I’m crazy for as I have always loved the simplicity of mocha, and lately, even strawberry. Like chocolate, strawberry surprisingly goes with anything, may it be cakes, mousse, or ice creams. I will now leave you with a strawberry dessert that I enjoyed a lot a couple of days ago.🙂
Woohoo! Yesterday was a great day for me since I did not have to do a lot of work. Because of that I was able to start and finish the whole Trylle Trilogy by Amanda Hocking. They were coming of age books that were full of magic, abilities, love, wonder, as well as hate. ***SPOILER*** there were moments between Wendy and her mom that made me cry, especially when Wendy saw the painting of her done by the Queen. ***END of SPOILER*** I was also surprised with how the love story unfolded since there were several dashing guys who could end up with her. All in all, it was a good read, I give it a 4.7/5 for teens, and hey, even adults like me will enjoy it.
